Do you love Musical Theatre? Theatre in the Wood will offer select classes and professional lab work for those who want to explore Musical Theatre repertoire, create new works, tryout new roles, develop their performing chops, and have fun working out to Broadway music!

Get up and out and join us for a fun class that will barely feel like a workout. Okay - actually it WILL feel like a workout - but also a fun time with other musical theatre fans who want to improve their strength, flexibility, balance, cognitive skills and musical theatre knowledge.
Taught by Theatre in the Wood founder Katie Schmidt Feder and geared for the age 40+ crowd - but open to anyone - every two weeks this class will be set to a different Broadway show - so you will experience each number as we stretch, strengthen, do some "cliche cardio", arm work with mini weights, and even a simple dance combo for style and memory! Class will start in socks or barefoot and transition to sneakers/jazz oxfords.

FALL 2026
MUSICAL THEATRE AUDITION/SCENE STUDY is designed for beginner/returning performers who would like to guidance and coaching in preparation for a community theatre audition and hone their craft a musical theatre performer. Warm-ups, improvisaton & theatre games will be integrated to create ease and confidence. No previous experience required. The class will be co-instructed by musical theatre director, choreographer & Theatre in the Wood founder - Katie Schmidt Feder & musical director, accompanist TBA. The 2 hour class will be held on a weeknight.
MUSICAL THEATRE ACTING/DIRECTING/WRITING LAB is for trained/more experienced/pro/semi-professional performers, directors, composers who want to work on specific repertoire, audiiton prep, dream role scenes, new works, etc. Resume submission and possibly interview is required for acceptance into this lab. The lab will be facilitated by TITW founder - Katie Schmidt Feder & musical director/accompanist TBA. The 2 hour lab will be held on a weeknight.
